Держава-агресор разом із Китаєм оприлюднили спільну заяву щодо завершення війни на території України.
Зокрема, росія та Китай виступили проти того, щоб «затягувати» війну на території Української держави».
Спільна заява сторін, опублікована на сайті кремля, в якій зазначається, що російська сторона вельми «позитивно оцінює об’єктивну та неупереджену позицію КНР» щодо «українського питання», яке полягає у вирішенні конфліктів «на основі статуту Організації об’єднаних націй».
У заяві зазначається, що на даний час сторони наголошують на необхідності припинення будь-яких кроків, які сприяють затягуванню бойових дій, а також подальшій ескалації конфлікту, і закликають до запобігання його переходу в неконтрольовану фазу. Також наголошують на важливості діалогу як оптимальної форми вирішення ситуації.
Окрім іншого, у заяві йдеться, що для «стійкого врегулювання української кризи» необхідно, щоб було усунуто її «першопричини».
Тим часом, за повідомленням Генерального штабу Збройних Сил України станом на 07:30 17.05.2024:
В Чорному морі 1 ворожий корабель;
В Азовському морі ворожі кораблі відсутні;
в Середземному морі 4 ворожі кораблі, серед них 1 – носій крилатих ракет «Калібр», загальним залпом до 8 ракет.
За добу, в інтересах рф, прохід Керченською протокою здійснили:
до Азовського моря – 7 суден, з них 1 рухалось з протоки Босфор;
до Чорного моря – 8 суден, з них 4 продовжили рух у напрямку протоки Босфор.
рф продовжує порушувати Міжнародну конвенцію з охорони людського життя на морі 1974 року (SOLAS), вимикаючи системи автоматичної ідентифікації (AIS).
У ніч на 17 травня 2024 року ворог атакував 20-ма ударними БпЛА типу «Shahed» із районів Приморсько-Ахтарська та Курська (рф).
В результаті протиповітряного бою збито усі 20 ворожих «шахедів» у межах Харківської, Полтавської, Вінницької, Одеської та Миколаївської областей.

The statement states that currently the parties emphasize the need to stop any steps that contribute to the prolongation of hostilities, as well as the further escalation of the conflict, and call to prevent its transition into an uncontrolled phase. They also emphasize the importance of dialogue as the optimal form of resolving the situation.
Among other things, the statement says that for a “sustainable settlement of the Ukrainian crisis” it is necessary that its “root causes” be eliminated.

1 enemy ship in the Black Sea;
There are no enemy ships in the Sea of Azov;
in the Mediterranean Sea, 4 enemy ships, among them 1 – the carrier of cruise missiles “Caliber”, with a total salvo of up to 8 missiles.
During the day, in the interests of the Russian Federation, passage through the Kerch Strait was carried out by:
to the Sea of Azov – 7 ships, of which 1 was moving from the Bosphorus Strait;
to the Black Sea – 8 ships, of which 4 continued their movement in the direction of the Bosphorus Strait.

On the night of May 17, 2024, the enemy attacked with 20 attack UAVs of the “Shahed” type from the regions of Primorsko-Akhtarsk and Kursk (Russian Federation).
