Нинішня ситуація на фронтах російсько-української війни (і не тільки воєнному, але й на дипломатичному, інформаційному) нагадує мені точку руху маятника, коли він на хвильку завмирає у своєму русі. І може качнутися, на відміну від маятника, в різні сторони – перемога не гарантується автоматично, а потребує крові і поту…
Проте мені ця ситуація нагадує подібне в історії Другої світової війни. Скажімо, перед висадкою союзників у Нормандії преса вільних країн писала такі всепропальні статті, що нам до них ще й далеко. Під час тої ж таки нормандської кампанії було біля 20 тисяч дезертирів-американців, а ми картаємо себе за своїх біженців- ухилянтів (мова, звісно, не про дітей і жінок). У середині 1944 року всі вже вірили, що війна закінчиться до Різдва… І подібних прикладів – маса. Якщо читати, авжеж, європейських та американських авторів, а не совєтських, де все було і є в росіян у дурнувато- патетичному дусі…
До речі, і щодо ухилянтів – я би не був таким категоричним, як деякі. Бо коли, для прикладу, хлопець воював у 2014-у, а тепер, у 2022-у виїхав у Бельгію, то якось язик не повертається його засуджувати, адже люди- не автомати…
А загалом – ситуація у нас на переломі. Щось має статися для перелому. Чи на Московщині, чи у вільному світі. Згадаймо, що Великобританія півтора року сама на світі воювала з Третім Рейхом. І там була тьма капітулянтів, не тільки Чемберлен з Галіфаксом. А перемога союзників стала прогнозованою тільки тоді, коли Америка стала виробляти військової продукції більше, ніж країни Осі.

The current situation on the fronts of the Russian-Ukrainian war (and not only the military, but also the diplomatic and information fronts) reminds me of the point of movement of a pendulum, when it freezes for a moment in its movement. And it can swing, unlike a pendulum, in different directions – victory is not automatically guaranteed, but requires blood and sweat…
However, this situation reminds me of a similar one in the history of the Second World War. For example, before the landing of the Allies in Normandy, the press of free countries wrote such comprehensive articles that we are still far from them. During the same Normandy campaign, there were about 20,000 American deserters, and we punish ourselves for our evasive refugees (we are not talking about children and women, of course). In the middle of 1944, everyone already believed that the war would end before Christmas… And there are many similar examples. If you read, after all, European and American authors, and not Soviet ones, where everything was and is in the Russians in a stupid and pathetic spirit…
By the way, and with regard to dodgers – I would not be as categorical as some. Because when, for example, a guy fought in 2014, and now, in 2022, left for Belgium, somehow the tongue does not come back to condemn him, because people are not automatons…
And in general, our situation is at a turning point. Something has to happen for a fracture. Whether in the Moscow region or in the free world. Let’s remember that Great Britain was alone in the world fighting the Third Reich for a year and a half. And there was a darkness of capitulators, not only Chamberlain with Halifax. And the victory of the Allies became predictable only when America began to produce more military products than the Axis countries.
